Job Title: Finance Manager
Pay: $69,000 to $85,000
FLSA Status: Full-time with benefits package. Employer pays 85% of total benefits package (health, dental, vision, FSA after 60 days). 160 hours of PTO for the first year (80 hours personal and 80 hours of set company days off), with paid company holidays off. Paid professional development and wellness perks.
Schedule: 10am to 6pm, in person
Travel: Very limited to none

Summary: Youth Empowerment for Advancement Hangout (YEAH) is a Black-led, community-based non-profit supporting teens and young adults in West and Southwest Philadelphia ages 15 to 24 who are impacted by violence. YEAH works to create safe and authentic hangout spaces by providing culturally relevant engagement and implementing teen led interventions to address the root causes of violence. Utilizing teen action through peer led mediation and conflict resolution, community engagement, and economic opportunities, YEAH interrupts the cycle of youth community violence. YEAH acknowledges teens and young adults as the experts of their own lives and prioritizes pushing back against oppressive systems and addressing structural barriers that often lead to violence.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: The finance manager will be responsible for the oversight and coordinating of day-to-day financial, operations, and administrative office tasks that help YEAH Philly function as a new and growing organization. This position will work with various staff members including payroll staff and provide support to the executive staff.
Job Requirements: Philadelphia resident or residency within 3 months required. Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. This is not an entry level position and candidates should have at least five years’ experience in finance and operations. Candidates must have superb organizational and administrative skills and must have previous experience with administrative, finance, and operational duties; must know how to take initiative, be action oriented, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Primary Responsibilities:
- Accounts payable
- Prepare and submit quarterly financial reports for private funders, grants etc.
- Facilitate process for financial and insurance audits
- Insurance applications and maintenance (D&O, liability, crime etc.)
- Perform an annual review of all insurance rates (health, life, etc.) to ensure we are optimizing our investment
- Submit all required FICA payments
- Obtaining COI’s from insurance broker as needed
- Cashflow and budget forecasting on a monthly basis
- Enter monthly bank transactions in Aplos software
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations
- Complete monthly finance reviews and forecasting
- Submit sales tax returns
- Accounts receivable
- Budget review/preparation
- Submit payroll and approve payroll expenses
- Yearly budget preparation
- Establish and maintain all internal controls
- Review grant and funding contracts for restricted funds and financial reporting
- Record deferred revenue in Aplos software
- Record A/P and A/R in Aplos software
- Record Accrued Payroll
